I compared the D60 and D80 through google and there isn't much difference between the two except price. Maybe I am missing something, but for what little I know about cameras, I couldn't find a signifigant difference. For the price, you can get the 60 with a lens but the 80 without. Lens are an extra 100 plus dollars. They are both 10.2 mp. The 80 is a slightly larger body, not good if you have little hands. They both have CCD optical sensors. Shooting programs are very similar. They will both shoot in RAW and JPEG. Both will shoot 3 pics per sec. And the displays on the back are the same size. I am sure there are some differences otherwise they would not have the 80. For what I am looking for in a camera, the 60 seemed to fit my budget as well as what I found I wanted in a camera. Gosh, Im sounding like a commercial. I am not interested in professional grade, I just want to be able to capture pics of the kids that are worthy of putting up in the house. The megapixals and frames per sec were very important on my list. I have a kodak now and the lag time from click to shoot drives me crazy. Mylie has usually moved on to something different by the time the picture is actually taken. The other one I considered was the Canon Rebel XS I think. It was very comparable to the D 60 but not in price. Plus the Nikon felt better in my hands, silly I know, but important if you value comfort. Hope this helps

What have you seen about the 80 that you like?
