Calling all Moms.......New Carseat Needed....HELP!!
Ella Claire needs a new car seat. We are in the process of deciding on which convertible car seat to purchase, but anyone that knows me...knows I am terrible at making decisions. I need any advice on this that you more experienced mommies can offer. I think I have in narrowed down between two brands, but any words of advice would be helpful.............Help Me!

About Me
- ellaandmommy
- The two most important things about me are that I am a wife to Bryan and mother to Ella Claire. I have been married to my best friend for 3 1/2 years. Bryan teaches at the alternative school in our hometown and coaches high school wrestling. I enjoy my job, which allows me to remain home with Ella Claire alot, but also help other children as well. I love spending time with my family, cooking, traveling, reading, watching movies, UT football, gardening and stamping. I love my life!

Hey! I really have been meaning to e-mail you about this but I cannot seem to find the time. I was going to do it tonight in Moot Court, but hey, I'll just tell you now.
I've been partial to Britax carseats since we got our first before Adie was born. Our infant carrier and stroller are both Britax (Companion). When she was about 7 months old, she was too tall for it, so we got a Britax Decathlon. I love it. We kept her rear-facing in it until she was a little over one (and until her knees were starting to crowd her - she's so tall!). It has plenty of padding for long car rides, a toddler head pillow, easy to adjust straps, easy to remove and machine washable cover, etc. My mom also has Britax Marathon in her car for Adie. It's pretty much the same as the Decathlon, just not as must padding in the seat. Also, I'm not sure if your car has it or not, but the Britax also have an easy to use rear anchor system (in combination with the LATCH) that helps hold the carseat from the rear. I think they call it Swiss Anchor or something like that. We attach the hook to the back of the back seat....if that makes any sense at all.
Ok, this comment is way too long! Sorry! I hope that helps some. I'll try to e-mail you some more tonight.
Now that I think about it, my VW had anchor attachments up behind the back seats, so I bet yours does, too.
Yes, the Britax is the best. I just bought one for Maggie and it almost matches Marlee's. They are extremely comfortable for the child and very safe. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.
Britax is the best but, if money is an issue as it was for us, we got the costco alpha omega. It went from 5 to 40 lbs. We got this one because it had wonderful ratings and we were thinking ahead for the next baby. When Mylie was an infant, she hit 20lbs before she was one, so we had to get a rear facing that also converted into next stage. We found this car seat at big lots for only 80 dollars. Good luck on your search.
I just got the Britax CS and love it. Trence does too! :)
